Prevalence and Comorbidity of Adult Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder Among the Patients Applying to Kocaeli University’s Psychiatry Polyclinic

The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of ADHD diagnosis among patients applying adult psychiatry polyclinic for first time and comorbid diseases diagnosed with ADHD. was carried out on who applied Psychiatry Polyclinic in Medical Faculty Hospital Kocaeli University Turkey between 10.01.2018 03.01.2019, 151 involved this study. After providing participating a verbal written briefing about study, Sociodemographic Information Form AADHDS were given participants. DIVA2.0 Adult Diagnostic Interview Scale SCID-1 implemented. As found DIVA 2.0 Adults, 19.9% ADHD, 80.1% not. Given diagnoses patients, it determined that, 16.6% depression, followed by generalized anxiety disorder (10%), panic depression that 13.3% participants not another disorder. Participants have lower mean age. Prevalence be singles students. individuals more prolonged education period. higher those received disciplinary punishment. Making an accurate diagnosis, designing appropriate treatment, determining comorbidities which psychiatric disorders is confused would positively contribute outcomes treatments increase patients’ quality life.
